Natrual Parks, botanical gardens, protected spaces, parks, these are only a few of the types of natural spaces that Rota possesses. Spaces that can be visited and enjoyed as long as you respect the norms.
The natural jewel of Rota is the Corrales, a maritime treasure consisting of squared off areas that catch fish when the tide is low. It is considered a Natural Protected Monument since 2001, and in what ecology and culture concerns we are in a protected zone of great worth due to it´s diversity.
We must also mention the pine tree forest in Rota, another great interest for ecologists. It was planted seed by seed in the beginings of the XX century. Different types of pine trees are found in this park.
Besides what is above mentioned, Rota has many wonderful places that can be visited and enjoyed in the urban nucleus, such as beautiful garden areas, parks, and places to rest.
We´ll begin our tour of the parks in Rota in the Parque Natural de la Almadraba, a small paradise of pine trees and sand dunes. From this park we move onto the Parque Atlantico, perfect to take a walk in the morning or at night as is the Parque Feliz Rodriquez de la Fuenta, where you will also enjoy watching the ducks. Please ask before feeding them.
For the plant lovers you can also take a look at the Jardin Botanico Celestino Mutis, a very interesting activity.
Besides these parks, Rota has half a dozen garden areas and parks.
