Our walk around the monuments inRota will begin in the Castillo de Luna, from the XIII century, it was constructed over arab ruins. It was built under the petition of Alonso Perez de Guzman in 1295. It has been restored and reformed recently. The Iglesia de la O is also important to mention, built in the XVI century as are the Torre de la Merced and the Capilla de San Roque from the XVII century. The first one was destroyed by an earthquake in 1722 and little after was re-built. Last but not least, you should take a look at the fortress walls that surround the city.
